Chafing Definition
Chafing occurs when skin rubs against skin or when another piece of clothing rubs against skin. The skin becomes reddened, a rash forms, and even bleeding may occur.
Runners, cyclists and anyone who suffers from chafed skin through skin on skin rubbing (or saddle rubbing on bum) knows how uncomfortable or sore a chafing rash can be!
Colloidal Silver For Chafed Skin
As colloidal silver is a natural and powerful broad spectrum antibiotic agent, and has excellent antiseptic, antifungal and disinfectant properties.
For that reason both the Silverlab Healing Gel and Healing Cream work brilliantly for chafed skin.
However, you will have to experiment to see which works better for you. The cream usually lasts longer on the affected area after application.
Cyclists may prefer the cream for chafed skin. This will probably be the best Shammy cream you have ever used!
A rule-of-thumb when selecting the cream or the gel for chafing is as follows:
- If it is wet or bleeding: Silverlab Healing Gel
- If it is dry: Silverlab Healing Cream
- Moist (half way between the two): Use your instinct to decide which one will work best. They’ll probably both work.
Healthy Lifestyle & Nutritional Tips
- Wear cotton underwear as this helps draw moisture away from the skin.
