Nasal ConDITIONS
What is rebound nasal congestion and why does it occur?
What we may be referring to as a rebound effect can occur with the regular use of some nasal decongestant sprays. After a few days of using certain nasal sprays, the nose may become less responsive to the effects of the medication, actually leading to nasal congestion instead of relieving it. Not all nasal decongestant sprays result in a rebound effect. The careful selection of an appropriate nasal decongestant spray known for not causing a rebound effect with long term use is therefore of utmost importance in patients with a history of this phenomena.
What are the common signs and symptoms of nasal conditions?
Here are 8 of the most common nasal conditions which require a fast, safe and effective remedial solution; both short-term and long-term:
- Rhinitis
- Sinusitis
- Rhinosinusitis
- Colds and Flu
- Nasal congestion
- Hay fever
- Allergy
- Post-nasal drip
What does the scientific literature say about alternative solutions for nasal conditions?
Ionic colloidal silver has proved to be both safe and effective in the management of various nasal conditions and can safely be used for prolonged periods of time.
A 2014 study in the International Forum of Allergy & Rhinology found that colloidal silver directly attenuates in vitro S. aureus biofilms when used as an antibacterial nasal spray without resulting in resistance.
A 2015 second study by the same forum examined topical colloidal silver as an anti-biofilm agent in a staphylococcus aureus chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) sheep model. The topical colloidal silver solution had effective anti-biofilm activity in staphylococcus aureus CRS in this model and appeared safe.
Does Silverlab have a natural solution for the management of nasal conditions?
Silverlab’s new generation ionic colloidal silver 18 ppm Nasal Spray helps to support the natural immune defences in the nose and respects the natural nature of the mucous membranes. It helps alleviate hay fever, allergies and inflammation, and helps reduce the redness and discomfort associated with flu and the common cold.
It assists in unblocking nasal passages, clears nasal congestion, and can safely be used for extended periods by the whole family. It has proven antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties to also help serve as a first line of defence.
For complete respiratory care, the Nasal Spray also forms part of the product offerings found in the Silverlab RespiCare Kit.
