Colloidal Silver for Pink Eye

pink-eyes-treatment

One cannot find a pink eyes treatment fast enough when those watery, itchy eyes become light red and sensitive to light. The symptoms of pink eyes are quite irritating to say the least. And the urge to rub the one scratchy eye, threatens to spread this highly contagious viral infection (causing the pink eye) to the other one.

A good pink eyes treatment needs not only to relieve the symptoms, but kill the virus, as well as the bacteria. Many don’t know it, but rubbing the eye may cause bad bacteria to settle in the eye. As a result, pink eye may develop into bacterial pink eyes, during which a sticky, yellow or greenish-yellow discharge may appear in the corner of the eye. In some cases, this discharge can be severe enough to cause the eyelids to be stuck together when one wakes up.

Luckily, it will usually clear up on its own within several days without medical treatment. Just like the pink eye viral infection, bacterial pink eyes is extremely contagious (usually by direct contact with infected hands or items that have touched the eye).

Colloidal Silver: A Natural Pink Eyes Treatment

Colloidal silver is a natural, forgotten centuries-old pink eyes treatment. It’s made up of microscopic particles, suspended or dissolved in demineralised water. Found in liquid, lotion or gel form, it has been used to prevent and treat a variety of diseases, including pink eyes. The unique property of colloidal silver is that its silver ions appear to kill pathogenic micro-organisms instantly. Colloidal silver has antiviral as well as antibacterial properties – something a pink eye treatment should undoubtedly include.

In his best-selling book, “Prescriptions for Nutritional Healing”, Dr James Balch, M.D. recommends a few drops of 5 ppm to 10 ppm colloidal silver in each eye, several times a day.

There are a number of ways in which to administer colloidal silver to the eyes:

  • By putting a few drops into the eyes at a time;
  • by using a pump spray bottle with a fine mist to lightly spray a bit of colloidal silver into the eyes;
  • by using colloidal silver in a shot glass as an eye wash and/or
  • by soaking a cloth in colloidal silver and simply holding it over the infected eye.
